How do I get Connected with an ABA Provider?

ABA therapy is focused on helping individuals with a variety of developmental challenges, including but not limited to those with autism. Some common signs that your child could benefit from ABA therapy include*:

  • Difficulty with communication

  • Challenges with social skills

  • Repetitive behaviors and routines

  • Difficulty with self-regulation

  • Delayed developmental milestones

  • Difficulty with transitions

  • Behavioral challenges

If you have observed any of these signs in your child, then the next step is to meet with a medical professional, such as a pediatrician. A pediatrician can evaluate your child for autism and provide a diagnosis. Some states or insurance policies require a two-pronged diagnosis, meaning that your child must be evaluated by two of the following: a pediatrician, speech therapist, psychologist, or, in some places, a BCBA.

Once your child has received a diagnosis, you may be referred to an ABA provider. Some of these require a referral from your care provider. KIDS ABA Services does require a referral, and we are able to request one from your provider for you.
